sa·hi·fe
noun · from the old word for a page
- 1A page; a written leaf; a record kept by hand.
- 2A quiet place for one person to decide, organize, remember and do — and nothing else.
01 Capture
Say it once. Sahife sorts the rest.
Type a thought the way you would say it. The day, the time, how long it takes, when it’s due and where it belongs are lifted out of the sentence — on your device, before you press Enter.

No AI reads this. A small, predictable grammar: the same words always mean the same thing, offline or not.
Press Q anywhere on this page to try it. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
Conservative by design. When a word could be a name or a date, it stays in the title.
02 Lists
Five lists. Five honest questions.
Every list answers one question, and tasks move between them on their own as days pass. You decide what matters; Sahife keeps the order.
03 Time
When you’ll start is not when it’s due.
Most apps blur the two. Sahife keeps them apart, so a start date never nags and only a deadline can be late. Drag the day and watch where the task lives.
Repeats that never pile up
Every week, or three days after you finish. Only one occurrence is open at a time — miss a month and you’ll find one task waiting, not four.
Durations, added up quietly
Say 45m or 1h30m. Today shows the sum of what’s still open, so you can see when a day is already full.
Reminders, honestly
On the web, reminders ring while Sahife is open in a tab, and anything missed is waiting when you return. We won’t promise what a browser can’t deliver.
04 Privacy
You read your tasks. Sahife never can.
Your task content is encrypted before it leaves this device. Our server stores and syncs it without being able to read a word of it. Drag the line to see both sides.
Sealed on your device
Every title, note, checklist item and tag is encrypted with authenticated encryption before sync.
A key only you hold
You save a Recovery Key when you start. A passkey can unlock your data in one step, where supported.
Search stays home
Search runs over your decrypted tasks, on your device. Your queries never leave it.
Nothing in our logs
What you write never reaches our logs, analytics or error reports. That’s in the code, not a setting.
Only what an account needs
Your email, how you sign in, and the storage you use. Not what you plan.
Free to leave
Export, import, and full backup and restore are included, free. No lock-in.
XChaCha20-Poly1305, with keys derived on your device. The design is documented, and an external security review comes before the public launch. If you lose your Recovery Key, every passkey that unlocks and every signed-in device, no one — Sahife included — can decrypt your tasks.
05 Local-first
Pull the plug. Nothing stops.
Every change is saved on your device first and synced behind you. Go offline, keep working, come back — nothing waits on the network, and nothing is lost.
Everything is synced.
06 Restraint
Not missing. Left out.
A calm tool is defined as much by what it refuses. Each of these was decided on purpose.

09 Questions
Fair questions.
Is the web app really free for good?
Yes. Unlimited tasks, projects and devices, encrypted sync and 50 MB of storage, free and without a time limit. Pro will add native apps and extras later; it will never take features away from the web.
Why do I need an account?
So your tasks can sync safely between your browsers and devices. The account holds only what it needs — your email address, your signed-in devices and passkeys, a log of account events and the storage you use. Sahife can see those, as the privacy policy lists; your task content stays end-to-end encrypted, and Sahife can’t read it.
What if I lose my Recovery Key?
A passkey that can unlock your data still works, and so does any device you’re still signed in on. Without any of these, no one can decrypt your tasks — not even Sahife. That’s what end-to-end encryption means, so Sahife asks you to confirm you’ve saved the key before you begin.
Does it work without a connection?
Yes. Sahife keeps a full copy of your tasks in your browser and saves every change there first. When you’re back online it syncs in the background and merges changes from other devices field by field.
Can I share a project with someone?
No, and that’s deliberate. Sahife is personal software: one person, one private place. Leaving collaboration out keeps it simple, fast and private by design.
When can I start?
Sahife is in a private alpha on the web, open by invitation. It opens to everyone once it has passed an external security review and our own performance and accessibility checks. We’d rather be late than careless. Leave your address on the waitlist and we’ll write when there’s a place for you.
